This award recognises a group of individuals from any community within Lincolnshire who have supported members of their community to move more, through sport or physical activity. It celebrates the positive impact that has been made by a group of individuals from any community within Lincolnshire through their provision of, access to and encouraging of participation in any kind of sport or physical activity.

Our Finalists

  • Age UK Lincoln & South Lincolnshire
    Age UK Lincoln & South Lincolnshire Activity Centre, Lincoln has been providing a range of activities and groups for the over 50s for more than sixty years. The organisation has grown to offer services across a much wider geographical area. Activities have changed and adapted with the needs of their customers and are reviewed regularly to ensure customers are satisfied with the choice of activities available and how they are run. Current physical activities on offer include: Zumba, Table Tennis, Pilates, Indoor Bowls, New Age Kurling, Yoga, Tai-Chi and Line Dancing. Activities are arranged to address social isolation and wellbeing.

  • Eloise Rimmer
    Eloise has been nominated for setting up a ‘Mums’ social netball group for Dunholme and Welton in 2021. The group has since blossomed into an all age, all gender, all ability group. Players in the group age range from 55 down to 7, encouraging activity for all ages. Social activities are also arranged as well as the Monday night training and Tuesday league matches - bringing the community together and supporting each other.

  • Jubilee Park, Woodhall Spa
    Jubilee Park has made great improvements to all their community-orientated physical activity programmes, bringing together members of the community, improving physical and mental wellbeing for many people. The provision of year-round outdoor classes and swimming pool season aquacise with a sense of fun and enjoyment has been a huge hit and encouraged many new members. Recent initiatives have also included increasing accessibility of their services to community members that are financially restricted and/or refugees. The donate a swim campaign – targeted at people who struggle to afford the cost of swimming, especially as a family activity and also to support the recent arrival of Ukrainian refugees has been very popular both with recipients and donors.
