Supporting the physical activity sector in Lincolnshire to effectively respond to climate change and create sustainable organisations and communities.


We're committed to supporting the sport and physical activity sector in Lincolnshire to become more environmentally sustainable. From understanding your impact and setting targets, to reducing waste, and picking responsible partners, suppliers, sponsors and investers, we've gathered together some advice and guidance below.

  • Sport Environment and Climate Coalition Resource Hub

    The Sport Environment and Climate Coalition (SECC) has created a ‘one-stop shop’ for key resources on sports sustainability.

    The resources hub is aimed at supporting the sector to reduce its environmental impact and improve sustainability. With a range of advice, and guidance, and signposting to further information and training, the hub show how the sport and physical activity sector can engage with sustainability issues and make meaningful change.

    A new guide to support organisations in the leisure, sport and physical activity sector to begin to review their environmental sustainability. It’s full of useful information to help organisations understand why this matters, and how they can embark on becoming more environmentally sustainable.

    This guidance considers some of the principles to apply to effectively respond to climate change, create sustainable communities and drive industry innovation across the physical activity sector. Sustainability plays a key role in the design and management of sports recreation and leisure facilities. Promoting sustainability can help you drive down running costs and make a real contribution in the battle against climate change.

    Aimed at clubs and organisations delivering physical activity, Buddle has advice on how your group can go green, as well as case studies from other clubs and groups.

    Energy Saving Advice

    VSCE Energy Efficiency Scheme & Funding

    The VCSE Energy Efficiency Scheme helps voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations (VCSEs) across England to deliver more efficient services for people and communities by saving money on their energy bills.

    The scheme offers independent energy assessments to offer energy saving advice in your building. The scheme can also offer capital grants to implement findings from your assessment - the current round of funding closes at 12pm on 28th February.

    Leisure Loop Recycle Scheme. Help join the campaign to divert 15 tons of Pool Waste from UK landfills in 2023.

    Pool waste that would normally be discarded into landfills, can now be collected, recycled and reused into new products for the industry.

    Jog on removes 1m running shoes from landfill - encourage your participants or customers to recycle their running shoes.
